Zoo

We went to the zoo this weekend with Kristin, Sierra and Caiden. It was lots of fun. I think Sierra really enjoyed keeping up with the big girls.

Here is a pic:

The next day was James' birthday. The girls were up super early to give him his gifts. Then we decided to go out for breakfast. And what next - Why not go to the zoo at 8am. We rode the Skyride and then went to the gorilla house. Like always James was able to get the animals going. This time it was the big daddy orangutan. James had it french kissing and head butting him. Hilarious.

Happy Birthday James

Happy Birthday James!!

Here is the special craft that the girls made him:

Fishing

Maiden Voyage of the Season!

We were on the first boat trip of the season. It was pretty windy and only one fish was caught but it was still fun. Here are some pics:

Field Day

This year James was the volunteer for field day at Cyan's school (plus Olivia joined in for it). Here are pics of some of the events

Fountain

My favorite thing in Colorado Springs is the Julie Penrose Fountain which turned on this weekend. The girls and I checked it out this afternoon.

Olivia's Graduation

Olivia has made it through preschool and is on her way to Kindergarten. They had a little ceremony at her school. Grandma Kitty came to see it too. Olivia was so excited for a week leading up to this that she could barely contain herself.

Olivia getting her diploma from Ms Lori. Her teacher throughout the year has been Ms Sonja and she is behind Ms Lori.
This is Olivia sitting next to Brian who has been her "boyfriend" off and on this year. At one point they were off because he threw a fork in the toilet and the school had to call a plumber to fix it. There were a lot of names to read. About half way through the graduates were clearly sick of sitting still. We were preparing for a coup. I know that a picture does not convey sound but it was pretty funny how loud it became.

Shooting Balloons

What do you do with left over birthday balloons? In our house we shoot them.

Of course Olivia was too nervous to try because she is not a big fan of the sound. But Dominic, our neighbor, gave it a try.

Signs of Spring

There are a couple signs of Spring at the Johnson's.

First, our mother robin has come back and now has another 4 babies.
The second sign is the garden is ready to be planted.
And the third sign is all of the neighborhood children on our trampoline.

Rifle

Let me preface by saying that we forgot our camera so you will have to imagine what it was like. I had to go to Rifle, CO this weekend for a conference. James and the kids tagged along. On Friday while I was in the meeting James and the kids scouted all the local parks. I finished Saturday morning and we headed to Glenwood Springs. We went up the hill in the tram and then rode the alpine slides (which were by far the coolest I have ever ridden). Then we headed home.

Olivia's Birthday

Happy Birthday Sweet 5 Year Old Olivia!!

I left work early to go and get Olivia on her Birthday. When I got to the school she was sharing her snack. James had brought in cookies for her to give to her friends for her birthday. She loved that part.

We went home and found this:
We went to the park to play:

Mother's Day Hike

I had a great Mother's Day. It started with breakfast in bed complete with a menu. Next I had some great gifts that are even more special because they were made by my favorite people. The we got ready and headed out for the day. We hiked in Red Rock Canyon Park which was great. We also had a yummy Mexican lunch.
Here are some pics of the hike:

Olivia turns 5

My sweet yet wild Olivia is turning 5. Olivia is a very sweet little girl. She loves to cuddle and have her back tickled. She loves to play with kids and has lots of friends at school. Lets not forget her wild streak. She can be as wild and loud as the day is long. She is also going to do it her way no matter what anyone says.
Here are some pics of the day of the party.

The cupcakes (they are supposed to look like crowns, use your imagination):

We took Maia and Delia along with our girls to Chuck E Cheese for a party. Our neighbor Dominic met us there.
