Museum

Today we visited the Desert Caballeros Western Museum. It is the little museum that GG volunteers at. It was super cute with a really good display of town and rural life in the "Old West" Here are some pics of that.
By the way... that is a fake snake above. Throughout the city there are statues of fake creepy crawlers. GG says the police get calls about a rattlesnake on the sidewalk all the time. ha ha

Tomorrow morning we will leave for the Grand Canyon then we are on our way back home. I will update with the end of the trip once we are home.

Geocaching

Yesterday we went geocaching in Wickenburg. As a general rule the Johnsons go the hardest possible way to the cache and find an easier way out. Here are some pics...

Spring Training

Yesterday we went to a Spring Training Baseball Game. We saw the Mariners and the Royals. It was kids day so there were free bounce houses and the kids got to run the bases at the end of the game. It was super warm and a lot of fun. Here are some pics...
After the game we ventured to a restaurant called Chino Banditos. It was featured on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. It was pretty good.

Phoenix Zoo

Yesterday we visited the Phoenix Zoo with the Goulds, who are our friends who used to live in the Springs. It was great to see and visit with them. Here are some pics from the zoo and then the pool and BBQ after.

Driving!

We were all set to leave the Springs on Thursday morning. Then we saw the weather report. They were forcasting the biggest storm of the season. We decided to make sure that our sunny vacation was not delays but the yucky white stuff and we left Wednesday night after I left for work. We were on the rode headed out of town at 5:30 and made it to a hotel in Sante Fe by 10:30.
Then the next morning we started out trip to AZ. We missed the snow but hit a huge sandstorm in Northern AZ.
Here is a pic from when we thought it was getting really nasty.
Here is a pic of when it actually got really nasty. These are pics from inside the car as we were stopped in traffic for the 5 accidents ahead where cars were blown into semi-trucks. Yuck.
Here is the car after.

Today, all the Johnsons and GG went for a nature walk at the Hassayamoa River Preserve. We saw lots of lizards. butterflies and a half eaten mouse. Yeah, snakes. I forgot the camera but I promise that will be the last time I make that mistake.

Tomorrow is a visit to the Phoenix zoo with the Goulds. Then Sunday is a Spring Training ball game.

Enjoy the snow for all of you in Colorado. It is 70+ here.

Garden of the Gods

We went to for a walk at the Garden of the Gods today. How could you not, it was over 70 today. Here are some pics.
Notice that Olivia has somehow gotten filthy in the second picture.

Classic Pic

Had to share this classic pic of my Olivia and Cyan. Gotta love that Olivia because not two seconds earlier she looked like this.

Anything you can do...

The other day I bought a new framed picture for the house. I guess I hung it while Cyan was not looking (James was at work). After a while she noticed the picture on the wall and said "Wow, Mom I guess it is true. Anything Dad can do you can do to". I said that is right and don't you forget it.

Now sing along with me "Anything you can do I can do better. I can do anything better than you"

Home Depot March Craft

Here is a picture of this months Home Depot craft. It is a soccer ball coat hanger. When the kids got home they went crazy with the markers. They even colored the back, that is the second picture.

I took these pictures prehair combing. But look even Olivia is smiling. It has been a rough couple weeks with our little darling maybe we are over the hill. Doubt it.

Spoon full of sugar

Yesterday at dinner I was fighting with Olivia to eat her chicken. It was a plain ole chicken leg, nothing that is not kid friendly. I said that she had to eat all of it. She said she could only eat it with sugar on top.

Thank you Mary Poppins.

By the way score one for the Mom because the chicken was eaten without sugar.
