Here we are at the Y's Halloween party. The had games, trick or treating, crafts, and a doughnut eating contest.
Embarrassed
Cyan was embarrassed at Taco Bell with us... (We came from a Halloween party and she was in her costume and hated it)

Cripple Creek
We all headed to Cripple Creek yesterday afternoon. Even Uncle Chase was there with his new girlfriend (who is great). We here are some pics about what we did with our visit.
Cyan raked up the leaves to jump in the pile:

Chickens
I know my kids grow like weeds but you should see how fast chickens grow. Here is Bellatrix and Hermione.
Chicken Coop
Of course this project took more money and time than we thought but we are finished. Well, pretty much finished. I may see if James can help me get the door to the run to shut better. I put the chickens in and they are not huddled together like they are too cold so we will see. The probably wont spend the night there yet. We are a bunch of softies.

Olivia and Mom
Cyan was invited to a Birthday Party with her friends and classmates. So Olivia and I planned a special activity. First we went to ITZ (a video game place). She tried so to win a "Stuffie" from the claw games. On her last credit she reeled one in all by herself. You should have seen how over to top happy she was.
Then we came home and she polished her own nails (for the first time).
Here is a pic of the nails:
She made my day hanging out with me.

Heaven
While driving home the girls were talking about heaven. Olivia said "When you die you cannot just fly up to heaven, God has to raise you up. He does not have really long arms but super powers to raise people up"
Cyan's Report Card
We attended Cyan's Parent Teacher Conference last week where we received a glowing report of her accomplishments. Her teacher, Mrs Scherb, said that Cyan is a wonderful student. She always gets her work completed and strives for excellence. Mrs Scherb said that they try not to give E's in the first quarter in the "Life Skills" section because then the child has nothing to improve on or strive for. Mrs Scherb said she gave Cyan all E's because there is no part of her behavior she could improve on. The teacher also said Cyan was the only 2nd grader achieve that in the 1st quarter.
Cyan has been put into the Book Club or as she calls it the Hard Work Club. It is a pull out gifted and talented program for advanced readers. I have been told that the average 2nd grader starts the year reading 60 words a minute but Cyan is at over 115.
Cyan sits next to another student and is tasked to help him with his work. They were grading each other's spelling test and Mrs Scherb overheard Cyan telling him "You only got 4 wrong. I can tell you really studied for this test". What a sweet soul!! So proud of this kid.

Chicken Coop
Our Columbus Day project was our chicken coop. We all got up early and started this project. I think we did an amazing job and think our chickens will be the happiest on the block. (We have not finished the project - still need a front and chicken run)

Miss Olivia's Report Card
Yesterday we had Olivia's first Parent-Teacher Conference. We were so impressed by all the nice things Ms Hoehn had to say about our Olivia. She said Olivia is ahead of many of the targeted educational goals, she helps with an autistic student, she never talks out of turn, and always works hard. Ms Hoehn said that when there is a sub Olivia's name is on the list of student to ask for help with the lesson plans. We are so impressed with that little stinker. What a good girl!

Sleepover
We are hosting our first real "friend" sleepover. The girls have played with chickens, littlest pet shop, and jumped on the trampoline. We ordered pizza for dinner and then had Oreos for dessert (My girls put in a special request that I buy the Halloween and Mint kind). Mostly the girls just played with the chickens. If you are wondering what 4 very tired chickens look like - here you go: (If you cannot tell they are passed out like drunkards)
Here are the sleeping arrangements, a tent in the living room. Wish me luck that they sleep.
Olivia's lunch
The girls had last Friday off of school so we celebrated a girls day. We went swimming, to lunch, and then had the girls pictures taken. One of the girls favorite places to eat is Super Salad so that is where they begged to go. We all know that Olivia is not a picky eater and before we arrived she complained that she was starving. We here is proof that she was probably right.
