Camping

This year we planned a camping trip with Dan, Robyn, Tyler and Hannah.  We changed our plan to Trinidad Lake State Park.  It was a lovely area (albeit very hot) and we all had a great time.

 The fire on the East Spanish Peak which is where we were supposed to camp.

 We set up camp and were all so hot.  We raced to Sonic for happy hour then searched out a spray ground to cool off.  The spray ground wasn't working so we just jumped in the river.

 Even Roscoe jumped in.

 The river was so nice we went back the next day.  After hi-jacking the grounds of a museum and enjoying their shade trees for a while.

 We explored the south side of the river and found these bear tracks.

Everywhere Roscoe looked was another enemy that wanted to eat him... bears, hawks and a stray cat at the museum.

It was time to leave :(  Robyn asked the kids to take a picture.  The first one she asked for smiles.

Smoke

Here is what it looked like here the day before we were leaving to camp from the fire that was 10 miles away from our campsite.  Later that night we came up with plan b.

Speth's

Then our old friends the Speth's (Philip, Tami, Kylee, and Peyton) came to town for a visit.

Incline

For Father's Day James choose to hike the incline with the kids.  They both did very good and then enjoyed a large Slurpee when it was over.

Fire

Then the devastating Black Forest Fire hit our community.  To show our support for the fire fighters and law enforcement we went to the shift change location and cheered as they came and went.  It was very cool to see the community out in force (there were over 1000 people there)

Circus

Annual visit to the Ringling Bros circus.

Purple belt test

Cyan finished her purple belt test and passed.  We invited Grandpa and Grandma Johnson to watch.  Gma Johnson got so nervous during the sparring and grappling that she had to leave the room.  Cyan is a pro though.

Backyard fun

We were hanging out in the backyard.  We had dinner on the patio and then the girls convinced James to light a fire to have marshmallows.  After that they didn't believe that he could do a flip on the trampoline.  He showed them.

Glow Run

This spring the girls participated in their first 5k.  It was the Glow Run and you run at night with glow and the dark stuff.  The girls did really good and the run was fun.

Territory Days

We went to Territory days as a huge group (Hern's, Chavez's, Rehorst's, Sean and us).  It was hot and crowded but the girls had fun on this trampoline.

5k

The girls were signed up for their second 5k.  This was an actual running 5k not like the previous themed one.  We did a combo of running and walking but the girls were proud of themselves when they finished.

Miss Katy's party

We were lucky enough to be invited to Miss Katy's horse party again. We had red bandanas because we were there as helpers.

Procedure

Olivia had an endoscopy to try to figure out why she has stomachaches.  She did really good doing the procedure and after (there were a couple of stressful moments about the IV).  Here she is before waking up from the anesthesia.

Olivia's bday dinner

I took Olivia out to dinner for her birthday.  She choose Red Robin because they sing to you and give you a sundae.  It is funny because she got so embarrassed she put her head down.

James' Bday

James had a Bday this spring too.  The kids baked a cake and frosted it all on their own.  They also bought this sun shade that he wanted and then tricked him into not buying it for himself.

50th Wedding Anniversary

Grandma and Grandpa Johnson were married for 50 years this Spring.  All the siblings got together and threw a surprise 50th party at the Flying Horse.  I wish there were more pics but my camera died.

Olivia's Bday Party

Olivia chose to have a birthday party at her gymnastics studio.  She had a bunch of friends and everyone had fun.
