Harry Potter party

Cyan just finished the first Harry Potter movie so we planned a party where we would watch the movie.  We made butterbeer and pumpkin pasties as our treats (along with wands of licorice since we knew the kids wouldnt like the pasties).  The kids suprised me with some birthday suprises to go along with our party.  They made a Socersers Stone, broom, robe and wand.  They also wrapped up a pair of holey socks as said they were from Dudley.

Pentathalon

This year the kids and I were able to join James at the Annual DOC Pentathlon.  What's a Pentathlon you might ask?  Basically a SWAT competition.  It was pretty cool to see and they great things for kids, mainly a bounce house and tons of prizes.

Here are some pics:
James' team on the obstacle course.  You had to climb the lower metal part and then climb up the rope till you touched the top metal part.  Cyan completed this obstacle twice once they competition was done.

Movie Night

The YMCA hosted outdoor movies once a month this summer.  It was very nice because you could sit on the grass and they provided very yummy refreshments.  The first movie Cyan and I fell asleep and it was Olivia who woke us.  If you know Olivia at all you know what a miracle it was for her to stay awake.  Otherwise we joke the Y would have had to kick us out or we could have stayed there all night long.

Skateboarding

The kids and I just happened across this skateboard competition on this ramp.  Very cool although Cyan kept rooting for people to fall (just like her Dad)

GOG Hike

The girls and I took a little hike at the Garden of the Gods.  Here are some pics.

Balloon Glow

Labor day weekend is always host to the Balloon Classic.  We headed to the balloon glow at night with Uncle Dan and Aunt Robyn.  We were back in the morning for the liftoff but the wind spoiled that plan so we went to breakfast instead.

This Johnson 4 participated in a mud run this weekend.  It is basically a 5k in the mud with and obstacle course.  The kids even got in on the action with the piglet plunge.  The kids created our matching costumes and we all were nerds.

Bike ride

We hadn't taken a family bike ride this summer so we remedied that and rode from our house to the kids school.  It was funny because when we were on the playground at the school Olivia reached down and pulled a thorn from her tire.  It immediatley started to lose air so we headed home.  She made it within a couple blocks before James had to go to the car.  Once we got back we realized that both Olivia's tires and one of Cyan's had holes.

Balloon landing

Early on a Saturday morning we heard this hot air balloon pass overhead.  It was so low that we knew it would land close by so we went and followed it.  It landed in the field across the street from our subdivision.
