Cyan's craft

Cyan made this craft yesterday all on her own. It was so cute that I thought we should sew it so that it would last. She did most of the sewing with the machine by herself too.
BTW - could this child be any more beautiful?

Easter!

We got home from vacation and the next day was Easter. We had a visit from the Easter Bunny, went to church, then headed to Cripple Creek for dinner. Here is some of the celebration.

Wickenburg

After all the excitment in LA we had a much quieter time in Wickenburg. We had a dinner at Anita's and toured the statues of the town one day. The next we went to a Spring Training game with GG and the Gould's. After the game we went to Peter Piper Pizza for dinner. It was great to see April and her family. She is a great friend.
The morning before we left James and I hiked to the top of Vulture Peak.
Then we headed home. It was a great trip and I am so thankful we got to do it. It was great to show our kids all that stuff and it was even better to be together. We will have memories for a long time to come...

Disneyland

Our 4th day of vacation we went to Disneyland. The kids really had no idea what to expect. Before we went they said "Is Disneyland as cool as Casa Bonita?" So here is our day at Disneyland:We got in the gate and went straight for the Pirates of the Caribbean, which turned out to by Cyan's favorite. Olivia hated it because of the fake shooting noises but she did like the drop.
After that ride we went straight onto the Jungle Cruise then to the Haunted Mansion, the train roller coaster, and then Splash Mountain.
We think this ride was the longest wait of our whole day, the Dumbo ride.
Carousel
After that it was just rides, rides, and more rides. These little girls rode all the biggest rides that Disney had to offer, even Space Mountain. They faster the ride the more they loved it - Daredevils!!

Its a small world. We watched the parade. I think you can see from below that Olivia was fading.

Once the parade ended we made a dash for Pirates of the Caribbean for round 2. After that we bought our souvenirs and called it a day. It was a great day!

Laguna Beach 2

We enjoyed our first visit to Laguna Beach so much we went back after the aquarium. The tide was coming in and the waves were much bigger.

Janice and the Ferry Ride

We borrowed Grandpa's GPS for the trip and a couple hours in we named her Janice and the name stuck. After the aquarium we were driving on the Pacific Coast Highway and somehow Janice directed us (and the towncar) onto a ferry. We all laughed at that a bit.

Aquarium

The next day we visited the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. There were some pretty cool exhibits. Jellyfish
Sealion preformance
Touching stingraysTouching starfish, sea urchins, sea cucumbersOctopusGarden eels
Touching sharksCyan's favorite, pufferfish (with a guy cleaning the tank)

Beach

The next morning we were ready to see the beach. We went to Laguna Beach which was awesome. The kids played in the waves and collected shells. Then we explored the tidepools.

We packed up at Laguna Beach and went up the coast to Newport Beach. There we walked down the pier and rented bikes. We rode the bikes up to Huntington Beach.

Vegas

We made it to Vegas early in the morning. We stopped for some breakfast and then hit the strip very early (7:30 am). At that time the streets are bare except for some joggers and grandparents, which we much preferred to later in the afternoon. We started at the MGM Grand and walked all the way to Circus Circus, which is a long way for two little girls. Of course we stopped at the M&M Factory and purchased some colorful M&M's.

We stopped at the Circus Circus and watched two acts of the overhead circus. Olivia hated it because in the midway there was a balloon popping game. She hates popping noises and cried throughout the circus acts.

We left the Circus Circus and got on a double decker bus headed for Ceasers Palace. The traffic was terrible and because we don't know how to ride public transportation we got stuck in a terrible traffic jam. It took 45 minutes to get from Ceasers Palace to the Bellagio which are about a block apart. Yuck. Once we got to Ceasers Palace we realized that we had enough of Vegas., which is shown in Olivia's expression. The kids were beat and we decided to leave but not before my first celebrity sighting, Ian Zierling. We had to carry the kids from Ceasers Palace to the MGM. Then we got out of Vegas.
