Luggage Olympics

The Johnson's are leaving for vacation soon and it seems our children are excited.  They have been working out with suitcases in order to be able to run faster through the airport while carrying it.  They are certain we will not miss a flight.

High Orange Belt

Cyan just passed her karate test and is now a high orange belt.  She was very fortunate because Grandma Kitty and her 4th grade teacher Mrs. Scherb both came to watch.  In the first picture, Cyan is sparring with Sensei Dave and the second she is receiving her new belt.

Dog Trick

Roscoe doesn't do much in life but he does like to go down the slide at the park.

House of Cards

The girls and I went to math and science night at their school.  We were running out of time and didn't get to try this experiment so we tried it at home.  The goal is to build a structure out of note cards as tall as you can and then make sure it can bear the weight of a beanie baby.  This kept them occupied for a long time on a snowy afternoon.

USAFA Gymnastics

I saw a sign for the USAFA Women's Gymnastics meet at Olivia's gymnastics practice.  We had never been to one and it was free so we thought why not.  I have to saw it was pretty awesome to see their skills in person.  The team even did autographs after the meet for all the kids in the audience.

Math tic tac toe

It was such a nice day so we all sat outside for a while.  Cyan had us playing this game called math tic tac toe.  Hate to admit it but Cyan schooled us on some definitions.

Tactical

Olivia had Amelia spend the night.  In the morning they came up with a game to tactically sweep a room looking for sharks.  James would have been proud of this game.

The Great Sickness

Olivia brought this terrible virus home from school and then it passed like wildfire through all of us.  The worst symptom was the never ending cough.  Here is Olivia getting her first ever nebulyzer treatment.

Valentines

For their Valentines to hand out to their class, the kids each made theirs homemade all by themselves.  Olivia attached a saying to pop rocks and Cyan made a sucker look like a flower.

James each gave the girls his own special valentine, a box of chocolates and a card with a poem he wrote himself.

Pizza with Kitty

We all met Grandma Kitty and Grandpa Ike for pizza.  This picture isn't great but this man threw pizza dough in the air to all the kids.

Cyan's birthday sleepover

Then came the day for Cyan's birthday sleepover.  She had 8 girls over and we did a spa theme.  The girls did a facial mask, painted their nails, and then did their hair.  Dont worry about James he was in on the action too.

Birthday bowling

Cyan had to wait a couple weeks for her birthday party because of timing so we went bowling as a family to keep the celebration going.  Either the girls are really good bowlers or I am a terrible one.

Cyan turns 10

The morning that Cyan turned 10 she opened some presents from Mom and Dad.  She got her favorite Taylor Swift CD.  It also turns out that her birthday turned into a near month long ordeal.

Cyan's Family Party

We had a pre-Birthday party for Cyan with family and some friends.

New Years Eve

All the Johnson's got together for a New Year's Eve Party.  Before we realized it was midnight and we all stayed up late enough to see the ball drop.  My kids had never stayed up that late.  I think they thought it was very cool.
